Subject: When Leaders fallen behind their people, in understanding, in priorities

Gather all the able, and do the best in the most decisive manner.
There is no other way, unless being stampede by the people is your desired outcome.

I come not to tell you I am ahead of you, but I am just one with you.
I have severe limitation, for I hold not the mechanisms you have.

Before you call for a meeting, election may you assign all the GLC chairmen, CEO, CTO the role of cultivating 3 good youth per year as their KPI.

People who led us compete in the world market is one we need to lead the nation.
Unionists, Regulators are not able to create jobs, lead Singapore to compete in the world market.
While setting as a mark of success each Minister invited to lead an International Organization, Fortune 10, rescue failing nation at their retirement.

(Added April 14
We used to produce MPs, even Prime Minister from our Keppel, ST, Natune.
Now we send  MP to lead them...

This i realized latter in

March
  1. that retired Ministers are not even invited to write, to give talks,  advices after their retirements.
  2. Are the holding of offices in Singapore improve not their skills, enhance not their relevance?
April this certainly is not the case of how new candidates feel
  1. Everyone of them, at any interview, said "i am here to learn!"
  2. Is holding public offices a place to learn or to contribute?
  3. Do we have too many able to rotate the offices at 2 terms
or
  1. do we have too many apprentices not ready for public offices and fit only for domestic positions?
Is Singapore an export oriented economy, or self-contained economy?

Dear Prime Minister,
Dear Tharman

This will be released after two weeks if I hear no embargo from your ends.

Leaders have to be ahead of people, else they will be overrun.

If we flip newspaper on our Budget, within a few page, we see a survey of what is the greatest concern of Singaporeans.
The greatest concern is about our retirements.

While the budget is talking about controlling immigrants, reducing burden on the poor.
That our people voiced a few years ago.
It took a few years for the government into acting.

Will it not be a few years later, our government ponder about how to keep the immense aged live at marginal level?
Aged or otherwise, is not the key.
The key is are Singaporeans fully employed, fully developed, producing immense values the world needed.

Sirs,

You are the most rewarded public officers in the world.
You are the most safely placed public officers in the world, for our citizens obey laws and order, our people do not cheat and shooting fire-arms at will, except may be two police officers in their free time killed their comrades.

If we are lagging behind the people you are governing, in terms of understanding the real challenges, how could we draw what package our people labored hard to provide without embarrassment – said swee say.

The real cause is we have ignored what I have shared with you at the onset of today’s crises (since 2006 05 18), about the urgent need of creating jobs for our people.

It is gracious of our founder to assign Philip to create jobs for our people, one day after Philip turned 60 years old.
This is after many prime years, many billions invested in Biotech.
Many precision (including Aerospace Manufacturing) industries felt they are not needed and left.

If Philip is asked to change course before he turn 60s, that will be a very different feeling.

We have to ask why Philip has not been able to do so.
Solutions I have provided together with that recommendation.

The most effective civil servant assigned for years to do it, without visible outcome.
This we must jointly see and help Philip to resolve.
This I shared with Philips that creating gadgets for the aged must be after creating jobs for the aged.
Singapore is not America.
Aged Singaporeans has no safety nets.

I come not to tell you I am ahead of you, but I am just one with you.
I have severe limitation, for I hold not the mechanisms you have.

Through the building of this nation, we have realized many impossible.
But within a few years, we have destroyed from the roots what we have labored hard over decades to achieve
1.    Multi-lingual ability
2.    Religious harmony
3.    Tudong removing
4.    Work force honest and disciplined
5.    Skillful and creative machinists and engineers in precision engineering
6.    Low Cost and Efficient housing and transport …..

These are keys many nations dreamt but unable to realize.
These are all encompassing aspect of our society, software and hardware.

The breaking of ALL these can only be there is fundamental flaws in our understanding.
This flaws is we have fallen into simpleton thinking that
1.    learning English is enough
2.    Anyone foreign is a talent.
3.    Money is the key factor to motivate people.
4.    Decadence is the way civilization heading.
5.    Reading Wallstreets and New York times will let you hold the world in your hand.

The following Martin Jacques, When China Rules the World is something worth for your ponder, even though an inadequate one for nations’ leaders.

Please, Sirs, if leaders lagging behind the people they governed, they will be overrun.
Leaders being overran, can only be stampeded.

We, the aging generation of devoted, disciplined technocrats are still in place to protect our few remaining founders.
But who is going to protect us?
At this critical moment, is new faces a selling point?

Singapore Technology, GLCs has not provided any since I alerted Peng Hock in 2001 that cultivating future leaders is his role.
This is after he dreamt taking foreign talent is an easier choice than a MIT graduate I labored to nourished.
How many MP our GLC cultivated?
How many meet the mark?

Gather all the able, and do the best in the most decisive manner.
There is no other way, unless being stampede by the people is your desired outcome.

Before you call for a meeting, election may you assign all the GLC chairman, CEO, CTO the role of cultivating 3 good youth per year as their KPI.

  1. SK, please be more "to-the-point" and factual. Bringing in emotions and personal opinion is not going to help at all.
